He grew up in Iowa and
attended the Iowa Writers'
Workshop, and then later the University of Paris.
His short fiction has appeared in The New
England Review, The North American Review and
Aethlon, as well as other magazines. His story
"Prospects of Joy" was selected for the Book of
Eros anthology.
He also publishes nonfiction and reviews. A new
essay is forthcoming in The Antioch Review.
He is currently on leave from the University of
Poitiers and is working on his new novel,
Prospects of Joy.
